WHAT ARE FLAVORED AI AGENTS?
Flavored AI agents are AI agents built on a common base and specialized with the tools, language, and rules of a particular industry. Tiger Claw is the network marketing flavor.
I coined the term "flavored AI agents." — Brent Bryson
The industry calls these vertical AI agents. Brent Bryson calls them flavored AI agents — because "vertical" is how engineers talk, and "flavored" is how people buy.
Here's what that means if you run a business: you get one base agent that already knows how to remember people, reach out, and follow up — then it's flavored with the language, offers, and rhythms of your industry, so it works out of the box instead of needing months of setup.
THE DEFINITION
A flavored AI agent is a base AI agent — one that remembers everything, can go anywhere, holds its own credentials, knows what it's allowed to do, and documents every action — dressed in the tooling and vocabulary of one specific trade.
Same engine. Different seasoning. That's the whole idea.
THE GOLF CLUBS IN YOUR GARAGE
Here's the problem I keep running into: adoption has been sporadic, because people don't understand what they're holding.
Having golf clubs in your garage doesn't make you a golfer. It makes you someone who golfs — occasionally, badly, when the weather's nice. That's exactly what a ChatGPT or Claude subscription is for most people: clubs in the garage. They use it for search, fifteen or twenty minutes a day, and call themselves AI-powered.
An agent is different. An agent plays the course for you, every day, whether you show up or not. But only if it's built right — and built right starts with the base.
THE BASE: WHAT EVERY GREAT AGENT MUST HAVE
Before any flavor gets poured, five things are non-negotiable. Miss one and you don't have an agent — you have a toy.
| # | Base element | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Memory | It actually remembers everything. Every conversation, every contact, every promise — forever. |
| 2 | Reach | It can get in anywhere: surf the web, use a browser, navigate real websites like a person does. |
| 3 | Secrets | It handles logins, tokens, and passwords seamlessly — so access is never a constant, never-ending distraction. |
| 4 | Authorization | It knows exactly what it's allowed to do — and what it's not. Permission is separate from access. |
| 5 | Auditability | Every word, every action, documented. You can ask it "what did you do yesterday?" and get receipts. |
That's the base. Everything beyond it — every special tool, every industry trick — is flavor.
THE FLAVOR: WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS
When I say "flavored agent," a mental image comes with it. Would you like:
- A real estate flavor — knows listings, comps, and follow-up rhythms of a closing cycle
- A network marketing flavor — knows teams, follow-up, and how to never drop a "not now"
- An Airbnb flavor — knows guests, turnovers, reviews, and pricing seasons
- A personal coach flavor — knows your clients, their goals, and when they go quiet
The flavor is the vertical's language, tools, and rules loaded on top of the base. You don't rebuild the engine for each business. You season it.
THE BARBIE PRINCIPLE
The doll never cost much. The money was in the accessories — the cars, the clothes, the camper, the boyfriend — and it went on for decades.
That's the business model of flavored agents. The base agent is the doll. The flavors and add-on capabilities are the accessory line. You buy the agent once; you grow it as your business grows. That only works when the base is genuinely loved — which is why the base five come first, always.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- What's the difference between a flavored agent and a chatbot?
- A chatbot answers when you poke it. A flavored agent has memory, reach, credentials, permissions, and a paper trail — and works your business whether you're at the keyboard or not.
- Is a flavored agent the same as a custom AI agent?
- No. Custom agents are built one-off, from scratch, per client — slow and expensive. A flavored agent is one proven base with a vertical layer on top. You get the depth of custom at the speed of a product.
- Why does auditability matter in an AI agent?
- Because an agent you can't audit is an employee you can't question. Every action documented means you can trust it with real work — and prove what it did.
